Some victims of bullying wrongly believe that if they were stronger or different in some way that they would not be bullied. But we cannot stress strongly enough that anyone can be a target of bullying, and the responsibility for bulling always lies with the bully.
There are many reasons why people are bullied. Bullies often bully as a means to exert power over others and make themselves feel better. They are most likely doing it as a way to deal with their own problems, insecurities and low self-esteem. And not because of anything you have done.
Many survivors of bullying have abundant empathy for others, but little patience or compassion for themselves. The effects of being bullied have stripped away their confidence self-esteem and self-belief. Fear of conflict stops them from progressing in life and impedes their ability to make a sound judgment.
